Half-term fun
As a different holiday experience this year we decided to visit Wales. My wife has been going on about how wonderful the castles in Wales are and I thought it would be fun to explore one.
We opted for Caernarfon Castle, which looked pretty good on the website and was on our way to the Haven holiday park. However I hadn't realised how wonderful it would be and I behaved like an excited child for the whole time we were there! While Sophie (5) was scared of the dark turrets, I was in my element climbing increasingly tight spiral staircases that seemed to go on forever, and was rewarded with wonderful views of the area. However the next day, I was also rewarded with aching legs for my climbing!
The castle itself is largely complete and most of it is accessible, though the toilet sign did seem to point towards the dungeons! The museum was very impressive, the views of the town were great and it was also reasonably priced; we could have spent hours there and still not have visited every part! I'd highly recommend it.
