Rest in peace Alec
Motorcycle industry stalwart, Alec Wright (77), sadly and unexpectedly passed away following a heart attack at his home in Lincolnshire last month.
Alec was renowned for bringing an unprecedented level of professionalism to motorcycle sport in the UK. The former factory racing manager devoted his life to working with Kawasaki Motors UK and was best renowned for his role in pioneering the Team Green Kawasaki project.
He was also a friend of RBP – he was our first client in 1993 – and we have since worked closely with his son Colin, who is a multiple championship-winning race team manager in his own right.
Roger and I paid our respects at the funeral held at St Germain’s Church, Scothern, Lincolnshire. There was a huge turn-out from the motorcycle industry and among the fitting and moving tributes paid during the service were respected journalist Jack Burnicle and former motocross rider Paul Malin.
