Making Moroccan motorways!
RBP was in Morocco last week visiting a Hitachi customer on the new Fes to Ouida Expressway. Chinese company COVEC has the responsibility for the 67km stretch of this motorway between Taza and Guercif, and is using a fleet of 14 Hitachi Zaxis medium excavators to help complete its sizeable task on time.
The picture shows three of the Chinese COVEC representatives on the site with the party from the Moroccan Hitachi dealer who were looking after us for the week. I was accompanied by our client (Ghislaine) from Hitachi and photographer Glenn Blackburn. You can see the new road in the background with one of the many bridges that are being erected en route.
Glenn managed to take a wide range of excellent photography and movie material from the job site, and the interviews I conducted (thanks to Ghislaine’s translation skills!) uncovered some interesting angles for our PR and magazine feature activities. This experience will also be relayed through the new digital magazine that we are currently building for Hitachi.
