LESS IS SOMETIMES MORE
What makes great art or design is totally subjective but I’ve yet to find anyone who isn’t impressed by the series of advertising images created by Olly Moss for the Levi’s Rolling Roadshow tour.
I’ve always been a fan of Saul Bass, who created iconic posters for movies such as ‘Man With The Golden Arm’, ‘Vertigo’ and ‘Anatomy Of A Murder’ and the Olly Moss posters are reminiscent of this style. Beautiful in their simplicity they encapsulate each film using only 2 colours and minimal graphics.
There is also and element of wit running throughout such as integrating Clint Eastwood with the Magnum on the ‘Dirty Harry’ poster and the use of the rubber ducks in the tyre tread on the ‘Convoy’ poster (if you don’t understand then watch the films).
